ChangeAbilities DAY HABILITATION provides an environment for personal enrichment and growth through a wide range of integrated learning experiences designed to support the needs and desires of each individual. The program is committed to meeting the changing needs of each participant and offers a broad spectrum of program and community-based activities designed to help adults with developmental disabilities learn and grow. Parents, siblings and caregivers come to us with hopes and dreams for their adult family members. ChangeAbilities offers an environment in which their loved ones are treated with respect and dignity and encouraged to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives. Family involvement - through information sharing, goal setting and ongoing communication - is an integral part of the program. ChangeAbilities supports individuals to identify their needs and desires, set goals, and achieve new levels of independence. Programming promotes skill acquisition, relationship building, personal health and safety, physical activity, community involvement, creativity self-determination and enjoyment. Our Curriculum ChangeAbilities offers a variety of interactive activities that enhance skill development and provide new life experiences:
LEARNING ENRICHMENT AUTISM PROGRAM (LEAP) This dynamic program provides adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions the opportunity to realize their full potential through meaningful life experiences presented in a safe, supportive environment. Our LEAP Model LEAP offers highly structured, predictable programming that supports the participation of individuals on the spectrum. Each participant's daily schedule is filled with a variety of activities including vocational work, socialization, life skills instruction, exercise, self-care, community safety, and an enhanced clinical/behavioral component. The LEAP model emulates a community-based day program, allowing for a combination of traditional employment and day-habilitation programming. Additional treatments such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy are introduced as needed. Sensory needs are addressed daily in a variety of settings and programmatic emphases is placed on facilitating transitions.
